2. Traffic Splash added a new twist to their bonus page that comes up every 15 pages. Now there is an element of chance.

3. This may have been there all along but I just noticed it–Top Tier Traffic added a flashy thingy to their timer. I don’t know what to call it but really like it better than a timer.

4. Soaring 4 Traffic and Hit Safari have partnered to offer Power Surf. When you surf 100 sites at both sites a day, you get bonus credits automatically added in.

Who pays me?

Friday, April 10th, 2009

There’s a big buzz going around in the traffic exchange community about commissions and exchanges who are not paying them out in a timely manner.

It’s no secret that  you don’t get commissions if you are not promoting the exchange. One thing I love about traffic exchanges is its predictability. I do see a correlation between how much I promote the site to the commissions I earn.

So my question to the exchange owners brining this up is why promote someone you don’t know or someone who doesn’t have a track record? There are so many exchange owners who start off as forum members or loyal customers–why not promote them and say no to a partnership with someone until trust is earned?

The same applies to members. Why would you always jump on the bandwagon of someone new? I get that the potential of building a huge downline is tempting, but how will it pay off when nobody upgrades so you don’t get commissions. I have also seen and partnered with exchanges who looked so promising, only to have the exchange owner practically abandon the site and move on to something shinier. There is something to be said about track record and longevity in the business.

So who pays me? Here’s my top 3 list of exchanges who pay me commissions–because I believe in their programs and promote them, not accidentally.

  1. Soaring 4 Traffic
  2. Traffic Bunnies
  3. Traffic Taxis

My two exchanges, Click Ranch and Cheetah Traffic, also pay commissions and I promise we pay out within hours.

Who are your Top 3 paying exchanges?

Walker Sites Super Surf

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

First there were 5 exchanges who first started the Super Surf idea. One exchange of the 5 mysteriously got replaced by another, but there were still 5. This was a great idea–a little elitist–but a great idea.

But now the Walker script has added the Super Surf technology and allows 3 of the sites to be surfed simultaneously for extra credits. The combinations of sites seem to change quite often, which I like for the variety this offers me. If you are attempting to keep track, it could get complicated. But If you simply log into a Walker site, it usually says on the surf bar where else you have to surf to activate the the bonus credits. Today I am surfing Tip Top, Splash-Wave and Traffic Speedway.

How many times per week

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

How many times per week should traffic exchange owners send emails to their members? This topic has been hotly debated, and I just want to add my 2 cents.

Being able to send emails to members is a privilege, not a right. If feeling abused by the barrage of emails, the member can simply delete their account. I have heard some owners express that members who don’t like their emails should simply delete. I know that not all members will like your newsletters, no matter what they say, but when owners seem to have a disregard for their members’ opinions, it strikes a chord.

To me, it’s not necessarily the number of emails sent out a week that count, but the quality of what you are saying in your emails. I understand that exchange owners need to make a living, but I dislike being sent newsletters simply for this reason every single time. Some owners use their exchanges to simply sell products. I never see them promote their exchange or take the effort to create promotions and contests; they simply use the membership base as an email list.

Although I said it’s not the number that counts, I am taking note that some exchanges are sending out emails every day, and some are even sending several times a day. I am curious to see what others think of this practice, but I am starting to get annoyed. I like some of these owners, but please, please stop sending out emails several times a day–please. It’s gotten to the point when I don’t even read them. Yes, I can delete my account, but I don’t want to because I happen to like the exchange.

Comment please

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

The ability to post comments has been fixed. I couldn’t figure it out myself and had to hire a programmer, and finally all is well. So please go ahead and comment. Tell me if you like this blog or what I can do to improve it! Or just comment to say hi!
